If you have lost your passport you must report the loss to the nearest police station and obtain a replacement passport/temporary passport from the Embassy of Ireland, Kirchenfeldstraße 68, 3005 Bern, Switzerland. A temporary passport may also be issued by the Honorary Consul of Ireland, Claridenstrasse 25, 8027 Zurich. Austria is member of the European Union, same as Ireland. Temporary travel documents of Irish citizens are also recognized in Austria. Although there are no border controls between Switzerland and Austria you should not risk to travel without proper documentation.
