Is Italian useful in Switzerland, outside Ticino

Is Italian useful in Switzerland, outside Ticino?
I speak French and currently learning German. Maybe in the future I will work in Switzerland, in either Francophone or Germanophone regions. I wonder if, in those regions, Italian would be useful or valued as a skill when searching for a job? Should I pick it up as well, or just focus on my German? Thanks.

If you speak French and German, you would be in a very good position to get a very good job in Switzerland, only the bordering "canton" between the French and German part are fully bilingual, the other don't necessarily speaks both. So you will have the edge The Italian part of Switzerland represent only 6.5% and mostly in the Canton of Ticino. If you are looking to ad another language to your "repertoire" I would rather learn English which is widely spread throughout the major cities.

It wouldn't hurt, at least in Zurich. Zurich has thousands of Italian speakers, many of whom barely speak German. Most are Italians, not Ticinese. It depends on the job though, in my experience the business world doesn't use Italian much (but that could be just my experience), but if you're doing something like sales to individuals, definitely go for it.

Yes.

If you have lost your passport you must report the loss to the nearest police station and obtain a replacement passport/temporary passport from the Embassy of Ireland, Kirchenfeldstraße 68, 3005 Bern, Switzerland. A temporary passport may also be issued by the Honorary Consul of Ireland, Claridenstrasse 25, 8027 Zurich. Austria is member of the European Union, same as Ireland. Temporary travel documents of Irish citizens are also recognized in Austria. Although there are no border controls between Switzerland and Austria you should not risk to travel without proper documentation. It probably runs like a Swiss watch. If you would be a little more specific; I could be a little more specific. Which machine?
